Our sincere condolences on the loss of your Dad! He was a lovely man and I will remember many wonderful times spent in the basement pub, dancing and playing darts with my Aunty Dorothy and Lenny in their basement pub.

I’ll always remember walking into the Cunningham house for the first time around the age of 11 and hearing Mr Cunningham say “hello love ” with his wonderful Lancashire accent that immediately made you feel special and welcome. He had a really wonderful sense of humor and he and Margaret greatly influenced the type of man and relationship I strived to one day find. The respect and love he demonstrated daily to his wife always accompanied with humor and fun was something very special.
Ever the “guardian angel policeman”, when Janice and I were getting our first experiences of going out in the evenings, he would miraculously be standing at the bar of whatever disco we had gone to, inconspicuously chatting to some guys around closing time. With his unique sense of humor he would then offer us his chauffeuring services and drive us home safe and sound.
I owe a lot to him and Margaret and can only aspire to do the same for other young people that come to my home.
May you rest in peace now Les with Margaret. I will always smile when I hear that Lancashire accent and remember you.
