Leslie Cunningham

Obituary of Leslie Cunningham

Passed away peacefully on Thursday, April 25, 2019 in Seaforth, Ont., at the age of 85.

Survived by his daughters Janice and her husband Tim Hoff, Louise and her husband Stewart Niven. He will be fondly remembered by his grandchildren Emily Niven, Jessica Niven, Jennifer Dietrich, Melissa Hoff, Stephanie Hoff, Lindsay Hoff-Cairns, & not to be forgotten furry friends - Duffy and Basil.

Leslie is predeceased by his loving wife & best friend Margaret, his parents Amelia and Bernard Cunningham, and birth mother Kathleen Ball.

Leslie loved his pint down the local with his friends. He brought the pub to home in Canada with his basement pub and parties. A man of many talents - he played the piano from a very young age, served as a Royal Marine, a police officer with the Lancashire Constabulary, specializing in fingerprint and photographic work. Leaving the UK with his family for a new life in Canada he started his career as a police officer at the University of Waterloo in 1971, retiring at the age of 60 in 1994. He could chat to anyone with his typically wonderful dry, British sense of humour. May he be sharing a whiskey with Denis, dancing at Blackpool Tower with Margaret and riding his motorbike through his beloved Lancashire with Margaret in the side car!
