My deepest sympathy to Carolyn and family at this most difficult time. Dave and I met in 1959 at Cold Lake, AB and became an All Weather Fighter crew on CF100s and later CF101s. While we did keep in touch over the many intervening years we travelled on different paths and in different geography but I have never forgotten our close bond and friendship. He was a great pilot and friend. I fondly recall his great sense of humour, his cartoons that featured young trainee pilot Smedley and treasured the biography which he produced many years ago, in which he gave me personal mention. May he Rest In Peace and may his survivors take comfort in the wonderful life which he lived with you. Farewell my old aviator friend and comrade. Orv Malcomson
I was saddened the hear of Dave's passing- we were Instructors together @ Gimli ,Manitoba in the late 50's-early 60's - we were great friends @ the time- over the years we have lost touch but I have many memories of our time together all those years ago Don McKay
My deepest sympathies to Carolyn and the entire Crow family. Dave's passing is a terrible loss to many, and particularly those in the aviation community. I first met Dave at RCAF Stn Cold Lake AB in 1959 when we trained on the Avro CF-100 and I continued to enjoy his company through our mutual Air Canada careers. Dave was simply a terrific guy with a sense of humour second to none. One of his cartoons which he gifted to me some time ago, hangs conspicuously in my home so I think of him often. This is a sad day. Cliff Cassidy

To Dave's family:
Please allow me to express my most sincere condolences on Dave's passing. Dave and I first flew together on the Boeing 727, he as First Officer and me as Second Officer. We later flew together on the DC9 as well, this time with Dave as Captain and me as his copilot. We did a lot of flying together between 1975 and 1986 and Dave became a very good work friend. He was at all times a kind, cheerful and humorous man.
I never did get to meet any of you, but did get to know his family just a little bit through his funny and charming anecdotes on life with his wife and three daughters, in a household where even the dog was female! He always spoke so well of all of you.
Seeing Dave at work, or just reading one of his cartoons, always put a big smile on my face. Right now, my eyes are welled up with tears at his passing.
Farewell old friend,
Brant Gulyes

I was so lucky to have met David and on several occasions I had the opportunity to sit and talk with him. He was a very kind, honest man with a great sense of humour and I will miss our chats that always seemed to end in laughter.
To his wife and family, I am so very sorry for you loss. Cherish the memories, they will always keep him close by.

When I was growing up, Uncle Dave with his humour, sensitive eyes, and strong personality became my
touchstone of an Englishman, an image I still carry today. Caroline, Debbie, Cathy, Susie and your families: you have my condolences.
