Nancy and I are very sorry to learn of Don's passing. My parents were long term neighbours of Don and Anne on Glasgow St. and they enjoyed each others' company. They frequently invited us to use their swimming pool, which was a great respite on a hot summer day. Don and Anne regularly looked after Mum and Dad's house when they were away and were particularly helpful to us when Mum and Dad moved to Waterloo Heights in 2012.
One memory of Don that is very vivid from the early years of their residence on Glasgow St., before I moved away, was the immaculate job that the Olivers did shovelling snow. I would frequently joke with Mum that Don must have had the whole family out late at night in the summer doing snow shovel drills so that they would be ready for the upcoming winter. After a heavy dump of snow, their sidewalks were a work of art!
Don had a wonderful sense of humour and I loved the sound of his hearty laugh.
Rest in peace, Don. You and Anne are a wonderful team and I cherish the memories.
