Obituary of Donald Walter Oliver

OLIVER, Donald Walter.

Don was ready to join the love of his life Anne who predeceased him February 10, 2018.  He passed away peacefully at Lisaard House on June 20, 2019, as a result of a fall two weeks prior.  Don is survived by two sons and their wives, William and Heidi and Peter and Lynn.  Sharing memories of a loving grandfather are Ashley and Andy Irvine, Adam and Justine Oliver, Ben and Tim Oliver.  Cherished great grandfather of Marissa Oliver.  Lovingly remembered by sister-in-law Janet Baker and nieces Rosemary Phillips and Gloria Rife. 

Don grew up in Branchton on the family farm and was the last living child of Bertha and William Oliver.  He started his career at Home Hardware in Cambridge and then went into the wholesale business with H Folkes and Co. in Kitchener until he retired at the age of 54.  The family would like to thank Don’s neighbours for their friendship over the years. 

Family will receive friends at the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King Street S., Waterloo on Tuesday, June 25, 2019 from 6-9pm. A Memorial Service will be held in the chapel of the Funeral Home on Wednesday, June 26, 2019 at 11am. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations to the Grand River Hospital Foundation, Lisaard House or the Hamilton General Hospital Neurosciences Unit and may be arranged through the funeral home at www.erbgood.com or (519) 745-8445.
