I met Roger in 1986. Roger helped me in so many ways to get off the streets. Roger arranged in the beginning that I stay with his bother Mel and wife. We always went to meetings. We got involved in a kids magazine together for a few years. Roger also took to me Attic State Prison. This was a great learning experience. I use to babysit his son Ronald. So many memoirs and all great ones. As years passed, I left Kitchener we always kept in contact. I would come to the Legion in Kitchener and meet Roger and Gayle. They made such a great couple. One could say they were soul mates. Match made in heaven. He was always a phone call away or a text. As I moved away from Kitchener we still kept in contact. When I heard the news of his passing October 4th, 2019 I was in dis-belief of his passing. It still is very hard. But when my mother past away Roger favorite saying. One Day A Time Rest in peace my friend we will soon meet again. Dave Hughes
