Obituary of Elizabeth (Betty) Mitchell

After a long and full life, Betty died on Friday, October 25, 2019, which would have been her 73^rd wedding anniversary.  She was 94.

Beloved wife of the late Ernie Mitchell, who predeceased her in 1996. Dear mother of Nancy and her husband Don Matthews of Ingersoll, Susan and her husband Duane Litwiller of Baden and Dean and his wife Magi of Edinburgh, Scotland. She will be lovingly remembered by her grandchildren; Jennifer Giesen, Kristin Percy, Jonathan, Robert, Katie, Kaytlin, Richard and Nathan Matthews, Greg Litwiller, Kara Maurice, Lara, Lindsay, Adam and Ewan Mitchell.  Betty was a great-grandmother to Theo, Sarah, Emily, William, Bentley, Brennan, Alister, Mason, Mya, Laila and Violet.  Sister of Doris Jantzi of New Hamburg and Irene Erb of Wellesley.

Betty was predeceased by her parents, Edith (Leis) and Noah Lebold, brother Irvin Lebold, his wife Grace, and brothers-in-law Orval Jantzi and Albert Erb.

Betty was retired from Wilfrid Laurier University where she had worked for many years in the Dean of Students office. She was a member of Benton Street Baptist Church.

Betty’s family will receive friends at the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King Street South Waterloo on Saturday, November 2, 2019 from 10:00 am to 11:15 am. The funeral service to celebrate her life and faith will follow in the funeral home chapel at 11:30 am on Saturday.  Immediately following the service, friends and relatives are invited to the Reception Room of the funeral home for refreshments and a time to visit with the family.

A private family interment will be held at Parkview Cemetery, Waterloo following the reception.
