Obituary of Elizabeth (Lis) Auch
Passed away in Waterloo, Ontario, on December 26, 2019 at 73 years of age.
Lis was born on February 27, 1946 in Györköny, Hungary to Eva and Paul Sebestyen. As a small child, she immigrated with her family to Canada, eventually settling in Windsor, Ontario. Lis was a devoted educator, working for nearly 30 years as an elementary school teacher for the Windsor Board of Education.
She is deeply missed by Andreas (Andy) Auch, her husband of 50 years, sister, Eva Binder, sons, Jeremy, Adam (Katie), and Nathan (Kim) Auch, and grandchildren, Harrison, Elliot, and Zoë, as well as many family and friends in Windsor and Kitchener-Waterloo.
The family wishes to extend their gratitude to the staff at the Village at University Gates, for their skilled and compassionate care over the course of the final year of Lis’s life.
Visitation will be held at the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King Street South, Waterloo on Thursday, January 2, 2020 from 12 – 3 p.m. with a memorial service at 3 p.m. the same day and reception to follow. Cremation and private interment will take place at a future date.
