Obituary of Veronica "Ronnie" Voisin (nee Straus)

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Veronica on November 2, 2020 in Waterloo, ON at the age of 74 after a lengthy battle with Frontotemporal Dementia.

Cherished wife of Donald for 55 years. Loving mother to Lance, Linda (Kar), Anita (Ante) and Sue (Michael). Daughter of the late Felix and Beatrice Straus.

Originally living on a farm in Josephburg, the Straus family moved to St. Clements when Veronica was a teenager.  There she met “the boy across the street".  Don and Veronica married in 1965 and moved to Waterloo where they lived and raised their four children.  She returned to work in 1985 and held various receptionist positions, the longest of which was at St. Michael’s Church where she was the Administrative Secretary and Parish Bookkeeper until 2009.  

 

Veronica was a talented seamstress who sewed many beautiful outfits for herself and her family.  Her artistic talents also included drawing, oil painting, cross stitching and other crafts.  She loved baking, gardening and rarely missed her daily walks around the neighbourhood.  Veronica was generous and kind-hearted.  We will dearly miss her and her perpetual smile.

 

A private Funeral Mass will be held for immediate family only. There will be no public visitation or service.
