There is no truer show of love than the daily support and care that Loree and Carolee and Jayne brought daily to Grandma to keep her healthy and connected and happy. Both Ruth and Lee were deserving, proud and grateful to have such caring children. That devotion and caring is a fitting reflection and tribute to who Ruth and Lee were, and how they treated the people in their lives ... and is a wonderful legacy.

When my Mother passed, Aunt Ruth called me every Christmas to check in and share precious memories of her delightful times with my Mom. Especially fond were their “young at heart” shopping excursions in Southampton and evenings when Lee, Morley, Ruth and Helen enjoyed the Drayton Festival. A beautiful cardinal graced me with its presence this morning and I sense Aunt Ruth is still checking in. Gratitude fills my heart knowing her.

Dear Carolee, Loree and Jane and families,
Your mother was such a wonderful person. I knew her through my mother, Donna, and "Club" over the years. She was always so positive, kind and friendly. We got our family dog, Ginger, as a puppy from you back when I was a teenager.
It certainly sounds as if you have many, many great family memories. Thinking of you with sympathy.
With deep condolences,
Diane Karges

I may have officially been Ruth (and Lee’s) visiting Foot Care Nurse for a total of 14 years, but I feel privileged to have come to feel a very special friendship and shared faith with Ruth and will miss her and our visits.
My thoughts and prayers are with the family she was so proud of and so grateful for.

I have known Ruth since we were both in Sunday School at St. Matthews Lutheran Church in Kitchener, and throughout the years we were together many times. I am one of the 3 surviving members of the "Old Maids" club, , of which Ruth was also a member, and our club lasted more than 60 years. I will miss our chats on the phone since Ruth has been at Waterloo Heights too. Please accept Ken's and my sincere sympathy, Carolee, Loree and Jane. You had a wonderful mother.

At Northdale School in the 80’s, Ruth was the model of unconditional love and positive expectations for students and staff. She was always prepared to cheerfully do the little extras, like cooking thousands of hot dogs, that made such a big difference to our school community. God bless Ruth and her family.

Please accept our deepest condolences. Within our high-school circle of friends our mothers were welcoming beacons of kindness as we gathered at each other’s homes. Your mom was beautiful and intelligent. She explained to me the reasons the gold fish grew so large in your back yard fountain. We are saddened by your loss - thinking of all of you at this time.

Ruth was always my other mother - as next door neighbour and mother of my childhood best friend Jayne, the memories are countless! I can hear her voice and feel her hug as she would always welcome me in. From childhood sleepovers when she would open the cheese package from Kraft dinner to put on popcorn, to hosting a bridal shower for me, Ruth has always been there. I even talked with her my last visit to Waterloo in Feb and the warmth of course was still present. Rest well good and faithful servant - you are missed here but welcomed home by countless. With deep love, and gratitude for your love and impact on my life, Linda (and Jeff) Wolfe
