Eleanor Reibling King died peacefully in her home on January 18, 2021 in Waterloo, in her 92nd year, with her loving husband Willard and her family by her side.

Eleanor is predeceased by Lloyd Reibling, her cherished husband of 48 years.

Eleanor will be lovingly remembered by her children: Wayne Reibling; Gerald and MaryIris Reibling; Brian and Beverley Reibling; Cheryl and Rodney Felka; and step-children: Jeff and Meredith King; Barb and Klaus Schmidtke; Karen and Jim Yardley; Jill King and the late Kevin King; and by former daughters-in-law: Olga Reibling; and Deb Knight.

As a grandmother, Eleanor will be fondly remembered by: Leland, Jaynen (Tiffany), Orry, Shawna (Andrew), Dylan, Sierra (Matthew), Brittany (Garret), Meghan (Kodie), Anna, Kayla (Marc), and her step-grandchildren:  Shannon (Kevin), Ryan (Melinda), Felecia (Shawn), Kyle (Amy), Collin (Sarah), Rebecca (Joe), Emma, and Matthew. She will also be fondly missed by 6 great grandchildren and 10 step-great grandchildren.

Eleanor leaves behind her dear brothers: Stanley (June) Johns of Seaforth; Gordon (Diane) Johns of Kitchener; brothers-in-law: Anson McKinley of Zurich; and Nelson (Ann) King of Baden. She will be dearly missed by many nieces and nephews.

Eleanor is predeceased by her sister Evelyn McKinley, and many dear brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law:  Oliver and Alice Reibling; Stanley and Alda Reibling; Clayton and Marjorie Reibling; Earl and Naomi Reibling, Myrtle Reibling; Delton and Ruth Reibling; LaVerne and Dorothy Reibling; Ray and Dolores Reibling; Dorothy Mae Reibling; Stewart and Norma King; and Helen King.

Eleanor was born on June 15, 1928 to Howard and Anna Johns, on a farm near Clinton, Ontario. Family was most important to Eleanor. She cherished her childhood memories of playing in the river with her siblings and riding a cutter to church to hear her favourite Christmas carols.

As a teenager, Eleanor and her sister joined the Ontario Farm Service to pick peaches during the war. After finishing business school, she moved to Waterloo and worked at Mutual Life. Eleanor married Lloyd Reibling in 1949. Together they built one of the first homes on Lexington Road in Waterloo. Later they moved to a farm west of St. Agatha, building a family home and spending many happy years raising their 4 children. Eleanor faithfully attended the annual Reibling Family Christmas Reunion for 71 years. Eleanor loved playing Scrabble and Rook. She never met a word scramble or Sudoku puzzle she could not solve!

Eleanor married Willard King in 2001. They enjoyed 19 wonderful years together. Eleanor was a dedicated, long-time member of Emmanuel United Church, serving on the UCW Committee and Offering Committee.  She also collected over $6.5 million dollars worth of Zehrs tapes to buy equipment for St. Mary’s Hospital.

Due to COVID restrictions, a private family funeral service will be held at the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King St. S., Waterloo on Thursday, January 21, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. The family invites you to join the funeral service through the live-stream link, this is available on Eleanor’s obituary page at www.erbgood.com . A private family interment will be held at Lingelbach Cemetery.
