We have so many great memories of Wendy especially playing Ringette for all those years. As Doug said this morning
Wendy always gave the game her all even if the game was a total loss. We had some wonderful times on Friday nights
And on tournaments at home and away.
I remember when we lived around the corner from each other and while walking my dog I was invited in for tea and of
Course the best shortbread in the world. Wendy had to put her cat in the other room so it wouldn’t be upset. I made that
Shortbread for years and also gave it to our customers at Christmas. If I was late they asked when it was coming.
This morning with our FaceTime Markham group we all wore our pink shirts in memory of Wendy. We have so many
Lovely memories of her and our great times together.
Our condolences go out to you Ray and your family.
Doug and Michele

Dear Ray, Leslie, Chris and families,
I was so sad to hear that Wendy has died. A terrible loss of a wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She was such a fun lady and great Ringette "red stick" on defence. No one was getting by her! We had such fun playing every Friday night, going to tournaments in our pink shirts and accumulating all our trophies! The only tourneys she missed were when she had a Scottish Country Dancing event to attend. We also enjoyed eating her shortbread which was the best! I feel happy that we went to visit her in Kitchener a couple of years ago and am attaching a few photos from that day. Dance on, Wendy and my sympathy to all of you.
Love,
Luanne

My condolences to Ray and the family. Wendy was an incredible spirit to be around. You could never be down, as she would always find positivity even when the team had no way to win. That was Wendy. Thank you for sharing her with the rest of us. My shortbread will never match hers no matter how hard I try. Marilyn (Monroe) Abbs

HI Ray and family, I believe I last saw Wendy in Waterloo a couple of years ago, she dropped by to see the Ringette Heritage booth when I was there getting ready to pack it up. She loved to chat about the days with the Markham Ladies and the trips we took together to many tournaments, including Ottawa (Gloucester) and across Ontario. She was so proud of all of you, and for her to also have a granddaughter make Team Canada was truly amazing to her. You know I just had the most respect for her, and enjoyed coaching and reffing her, I knew her for a very long time. Our prayers are with your family.

Wherever Wendy went she had a bounce in her step, and had a bright smile for everyone! She added the sparkle to so many of our family gatherings and she will be dearly missed. I can think of so many fun memories starting from being a bridesmaid in her wedding, to the shared adventures we had out West here in B.C. whenever she came to visit. Thinking of you Ray and all the family there and sending you our love and prayers... Suzanne and Earl
