My deepest sympathies to Pat's family and circle of friends. Pat was my grade 4 and 6 teacher at Alexandra PS. She was a wonderful teacher - warm, caring and encouraging. My twinbrother Duncan and I shared several memories from over 40 years ago including a year end bbq and pool party that we both still remember. Pat and my path crossed over the year's and I'm thankful for those occasions because she always made me feel special. I'm thankful for her. She made a difference. And she will be missed. My prayer for her loved ones is that God will comfort you in the palm of his gentle, healing hands. Blessings.

I’m deeply saddened to learn of the passing of my teacher and my friend Mrs. Lillie. My teacher for at least 2 years at Alexandra school (Grades 4&6). Pat was patient and kind I enjoyed my years with her, they were highlights of my time at Alexandra. I recall being invited to dinner at the Lillie home, something Pat did for all her students. Today this would never happen but back in the 1970’s in small town Waterloo it was not a big deal. It was a memorable experience for me seeing my teacher away from the classroom getting a glimpse inside her private life. Our paths crossed a few times after my Alexandra days and it was always great to see her and reminisce about a wonderful time in our lives at a small unique school with so many special memorable people. I’m reminded of Maya Angelou’s quote: “I’ve learned that people will forget what you said, people will forget what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel “. I’ve never forgotten how special Pat made me feel as a young boy, she was full of love and caring for me and for all of her students. My condolences to her family and friends, Pat was an amazing person and I will never forget her.

I am sorry to hear of Pat's passing and under such painful circumstances for her and family. I knew Pat through the Sorority we both attended for a number of years. I was privileged to get to know the wonderful lady she was. My best memories of Pat are when I was blessed to give her a lift at times to our dinners. Lois i will forever be grateful for you allowing Brian and I to come Sunday. That was the last time we were able to see her with the restrictions in place and gave the space for others to see her before she passed. I'm so glad you wrote here so I could thank you personally.
