My husband and I live at the end of the hallway where Gord lived. You could always catch him walking the hall, having a conversation in the lobby with someone or helping someone by holding the door open or helping someone with groceries, etc. I will miss our conversations and his laugh. He was a amazing person. We will miss him a lot. Remember to keep the precious memories of him in heart and mind and hold on to them close.
Love, Jenn and Reg Sargent 545 Belmont Avenue W Apt 103

I am so sad that Gord has passed. He lived on the floor below me and anytime I saw him he was always so sweet. Before covid, I would save up my empty wine bottles and leave them outside his door, and if I was lucky enough he would be on his way out and have a conversation with me.
Many times after returning from Tim hortons with my hands full, he would always let me inside and joke how full my hands ALWAYS were.
I saw the birthday posting in our lobby and my heart sank. I feared the worst but I was so happy to see he had only turned 90!
Today my heart sank a little lower.
I will forever think of Gord when I pass through the lobby and any bottle I return I'll wish I could have given to him :(
Condolences to his family and friends, he was an amazing neighbor and wonderful man and I am so happy to have had the pleasure of knowing him.

Mike, Richard, Barbara and family, we share your loss of Gord ! He was a dear friend of our family and the entire sporting community of Waterloo. Our family always enjoyed our friendly exchanges with Gord and the other Siskin crew at the Navy Club on Saturday mornings. (Although we were much more gentle with Gord than the Siskin crew were. )
We will forever remember Gord for his friendliness, good humor and contribution to sport in Waterloo !
Carl & Beverley Thiel and all of Thiel family

It was with great sadness that l learned of Gordies passing. As someone who joined the Siskins from outside the community, Gordie was one who went out of his way to make me feel welcome. Always a smile on his face and a twinkle in his eye, ready with a story to share. I remember last year attending one of the infamous Saturday morning breakfasts at the Navy Club and had the good fortune of sitting beside Gordie. In between the jokes and jabs from around the table, it gave us a chance to talk and catch up. It's memories like that that bring a smile and a tear at this difficult time. Goodbye my friend.

My heart goes out to the family during this time.
Gordie will be missed dearly by family and friends, but its time that we meet again Gordie, I will be there to make you breakfast and too share stories, like I did when I cooked breakfast at the Navy Club you liked so much.
I am real sorry that you were taken by this pandemic my friend. God bless you on your arrival to his home of no more pain or suffering.
