I was so very sad to hear of Bill`s passing. He was such a kind and caring man. I enjoyed cooking home made meals for him. Although I only knew Bill for 7 or 8 months, I feel like I`d known him for many years. The world has lost a true gentleman. My deepest condolences to the family and may he rest in peace. My dearest, Leona. Thank you for being so kind and caring and going beyond the call of duty for our dad. You sure saved him a lot of takeout and peanut butter sandwiches. He loved having your home cooked meals and of course all the great pies he managed to sneak in! We will miss seeing you around, but know that we are grateful to you and your husband for being kind friends to him. Thank you.

Bill was a very special guy and I feel honoured to have gotten to know him better in these last few years. It was great that he would have Carlo and Margaret drive him into Stratford to have lunch with me - wow! Bless him on his way! And may your great memories sustain you. Elizabeth Gaffney - a distant cousin.

Dear, Elizabeth. He felt very privileged to reconnect with you as well. He would often say he was going to Stratford to share lunch with you and the Perottas. There are some friendships that last a lifetime and he cherished yours.

To Bill’s Family –
Please accept my deepest sympathy in the loss of Bill. The world has lost a very special person! We first met when I was in High School in Stratford while he was sportscaster at CJCS, and have been good friends ever since. Over the years, we did a great deal of writing together, especially with his Christmas radio shows. He became a dear friend of my Dad’s (Norman Dunn), and spoke at both his 100th birthday celebration and funeral service. For several years, Bill, Larry Lemenchick, my husband and I enjoyed monthly luncheons at the Arden Park Hotel. A very noisy group! Bill was one of the most caring, thoughtful, generous, comical persons I’ve ever known; I will never forget him! He was extremely kind to me when my husband, Bill, died three years ago, and continued to be very supportive since that time. Above all else, Bill adored his family, and was so proud of each of you! Do know my caring thoughts are with you. Norma (Dunn) Clare London

Dear, Norma. My dad thoroughly enjoyed your lunches and visits, especially the ones when your dad was still alive. I remember when he bought 100 candies for your dad for his 100th birthday, he thought that was such a great idea and so did I. He spoke of you often and would share all your little stories with us. Thank you for your kind words about our dad, we miss him terribly.

My condolences to Bill's family. I had the privilege to chat with Bill weekly, over many, many years, at St. Michael Parish, Waterloo. His 'Hey Kath!' greeting from his very own 'reserved' pew, his stories from the past and words of wisdom always put a smile on my face. He was such a kind, gentle person, full of love and faith. I will truly miss his presence and he too will be missed by his faith community. May he rest in eternal peace. +

Dear, Kathy. You were one of the highlights getting into that church and his pew just so he could say, "Hey Kath!". You were very kind and considerate to him over the years and it was very deeply appreciated. He missed his religious family when he couldn't make it to church. He spoke of you very fondly over the years. Thank you.

Our sincerest condolences to Tammy, Marc, Michael and your families. I will never forget the time Uncle Bill invited me to sit in the press box in the old Hamilton Forum, as he did the radio broadcast of the game between the Rangers and Red Wings. When play stopped, I had to run down the stairs and figure out the time remaining on the old clock (obstructed by the steel girders) so he could pass it onto the listeners. What a thrill, what a voice, never to be forgotten. Stay safe and well. Shawn & Leslie Gaffney, my mom Mary, and the rest of the Gaffney Gang.

Dear Shawn and Leslie, that sounds just like something my dad would do. I guess he was getting you started in your early firefighter training. He loved your family very much and was always very happy to do anything for you guys. Thank you for your kind words during this sad time.

My condolences to the Inkol Family. I was part of the group that met with your Dad in Stratford for quite a number of years for noon hour lunches and reminiscing;. As a young boy my brothers and I would always look forward to CJCS sports news at 12:10 with Bill Inkol. To this day we still use his sign off : "if you can't play a sport, then be one".
As a Rotarian I had your Dad speak at our club. The usual attendance would be 90 but when word went out who the speaker was, many members brought guests. To the chagrin of the caterer, 115 showed up meaning a shortage of food. As most of our members were over age 50, many new Bill from the past.
He gave a great speech, brought back a lot of memories and brought the "house'" down with many stories.
Sincerely
Rheo Thompson.

Dear Rheo, my dad enjoyed those lunches with his old buddies from Stratford so much. It would be the highlight of his week when he knew he could get together with all his old friends. He and Carlo would always make a trip to the chocolate store afterwards to get his mint smoothies. He was right, if you can't play sports be a sport and he just loved playing the game with his buddies. Thank you for everything.

Our sincere sympathy to Tammy and John, Marc and Patty and Mike and Laurie and families.
What wonderful memories we have of Marj and Bill! Having them for neighbours on Westridge Dr. was a blessing. We had more laughs and fun on summer evenings on our walks or just hanging out in Marj and Bill's garage. There was always a story from Bill that had us all in stitches.
It is said that laughter is good for the soul and our souls were so enriched by having Bill as our neighbour and friend. I know he will be so missed by you all but we know that his love and immeasurable kindness will comfort you.

To the Inkol Families: I was very sorry to hear about Bill's passing. He and Marjorie were very good friends of my mother Doreen and late father George Aitken in the early 50's in Stratford. He and Marjorie also happened to be my Godparents. I was lucky enough to reconnect with Bill in 2015 -2018 when we would meet up in Stratford for lunch with Dinny Flanagan, Frank,Shirley& Dianne Uniac .All I did was listen to the stories. I only wish I could of met your Mother also. You are in our thoughts and prayers at this time.
