Wilbert (Wib) Samuel Brown, 91, of Waterloo, passed away on Sunday, April 18, 2021, in Kitchener.

A private family funeral service was held at the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home in Waterloo on Friday, April 23, 2021 at 1:00 p.m. with Rev. Paul Ellingham officiating. Wib was born in Campbell's Bay, Quebec to Susan and Ernie Brown on September 30, 1929. He attended high school at Smith Falls Collegiate Institute and graduated in 1949. He went on to earn many degrees in education and theology, including two doctorates. He worked as a teacher and principal for 35 years in various parts of Ontario, with the last 18 being in Hastings County, retiring in 1986. He was involved in many organizations, principally being the United Church (St. Mark's and Bloomingdale) and the Elmwood Cemetery in the Belleville area. He enjoyed lifelong learning and lay preaching.

Wib was preceded in death by his former wife, Betty, his sisters Florence Brown, Iona Budd, Joan Sheil, Jessie Johnston and Reta Wittstock and his brothers John, Orville, Leonard and Alvin Brown.

Wib is survived by his wife, Margaret Schiffer of Waterloo, his children Chris (Leslie) of Belleville, Tim (Kathy) of Newmarket, Colleen (Mark) of Belleville, his siblings Dorothy Finnerty of Smith Falls, Walter Brown of Smith Falls, Leslie Brown of Perth, and Gladys Wright of Perth. Lovingly remembered by eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
