Dianne & Frank, Bonnie, Brian, Elizabeth and families: We are so glad to have all the beautiful memories with your mom, playing cards, spending time at the cottage, playing bingo with her and doing many more fun things, too many to mention. I also remember coming over to Dianne's house after school and/or weekends. Your mom was always so welcoming and always had a beautiful smile on her face. My family was blessed to know Elaine! She was a big part of our lives for the 8 years she was our caregiver. Arriving in the morning before we woke up she was always ready for a snuggle and to fix our hair when dad tried to do it before work. She never said no to playing a game whether it be mother may I, what time is it Mr. Wolf or jacks and sevens she was always up for it. She even taught us how to play 21, this was our favourite game because we got to play with chocolate chips and mini marshmallows! She was our caregiver for over 8 years and in that time she became more than that, she was family! She was a help to my mom and dad, loving us girls like her own and helping with the housework, the laundry was always done! She was loving and caring and thoughtful and never yelled at us even though we may have yelled at her. I remember one march break begging her to let me put some shorts on because my friends were wearing shorts, she never raised her voice but was firm and didn't give in. She helped mold my sisters and I into the people we are today and after all this time there isn't a day goes by that we don't think of her. She holds a special place in our hearts and is so dear to me, so much so that I named my daughter after her. I love you Lainey, always have and always will. To Diane, Bonnie, Brian and families. I am so very sorry for your loss and am praying and thinking of you all! Thank you for sharing Elaine with us, I will forever be grateful that I got to be one of her "girls". Erin (Sebastian) Smith

I was very fortunate to have Elaine in my life from the time I was a small baby until I was 7 years old. She was the closest thing I had to a loving grandmother (or female figure other than my mom and sisters). She loved me and my sisters dearly and always treated us as if we were her own. I have many fond memories of Elaine, playing with her granddaughter Stephanie, visiting Buddy at her home, playing 'Mother-may-I" and 21 (betting with chocolate chips). She always had yummy candy in her purse and the way she would come over in the morning and discretely fix my hair after my dad would try to style it and place my part way too far to the side. My most favourite memory of Elaine, that I think shows her true loving character, is the time she tried to fix my favourite blanket. When she came over, I showed her that it had a hole in it and so, she took me to Lens Mill and let me pick out some Holly Hobby fabric. She spent the whole day covering my white blanket in patches. She even stayed later than her regular hours to make sure it was finished in time for me to go to bed. When she was done, she gave it to me and I CRIED! It didn't look like my blankie anymore. Instead of being angry or upset over the time she wasted, she simply and carefully took each patch off and gave me back my holey blanket. She gave her all to those she loved and I truly think I'm a better, more kind and thoughtful, person because of our Lainey. To the Geffros Family. Thank you for sharing Elaine with us. We will be forever grateful that we got to be one of her girls. Sending so much love to you all. Her baby girl, Leah xo

I still remember the first day she came into our home when I was 8 years old. She was kind and sweet and almost instantly made her way into my sisters and my heart. She taught me to knit and to play cards (betting only with chocolate chips) and she helped mold my sisters and I into the people we are today.
