Out deepest sympathies to you and your family. Ken was a huge asset to our club and helped many new curlers learn and improve their game. A gentle and very capable skip.

We are so sorry to hear of Ken's passing and will certainly miss him when next we meet for martinis. His genuine kindness will be remembered as well as that tip from the chair when attempting to pet the cat. So many good memories we have of him.

Hi Don!
Sorry to hear of your father's death! Give my sympathy to your family.
Even though we know death is coming, it is always hard to accept it, when it is here.
I watched his memorial service on my computer. It was very nice and touching.
A couple things struck me.
1. I walked two miles to school, rain or shine. One time, I fell down about 10 times on the way to school when we had ice.
2. I attended a one-room school also. One year there were 22 children in the eight grades. Eleven of us were first cousins on
the same side of the family, Mom's side. People in the city just can't comprehend that about school. All through grade
school there were only two cousins in my class. We were all three born in March and we had a parent born in March, my
mom and two of her brothers. There was another cousin born in March the same year, but she went to a different school.
This cousin's dad was my mom's oldest brother. Three of the four cousins had a child born in March.
3. When an Aunt or Uncle was buried, Father also talked about the "dash" between the birth and death date.
4. We called the evening mean "supper" also, and not dinner like we do today.
I didn't mean to make this about me; I just noted the similarities. I thought you could stand a little nonsense right now.
Again, I extend my sorrow to you and the rest of your family.

What a dear friend who accepted me as a lead curler, and when he was retiring from the sport he promoted me to skip. l enjoyed Ken most as a skip for a number years. Jane and I enjoyed many years of good company and fun dinners with Ruth and Ken.
