June 4, 2021.
My wife Marsha and I came to know Brian through his late brother Russell.
Brian and I became good friends back in early 2019 through the game of cribbage.
Each week I would visit Brian for a couple of hours at Freeport for coffee, cribbage and some good conversations on the hot topics of the week.
You had to be at your best when playing cards with Brian as he knew how to play well.
We had many good games and lots of laughs.
Prior to the pandemic Russell joined in the games and fun to the delight of Brian and myself.
We all looked forward to those weekly get togethers and the back and forth kibitzing.
The pandemic ended our visiting and card playing but we stayed in touch through texting.
If Brian needed any personal supplies, he would let us know and we would pick them up and deliver them to his attention at Freeport.
We will always remember Brian’s infectious smile and positive attitude.
Rest In Peace Brian and take it easy on Russell in cribbage.

Brian was a great friend for many years. We had many good times together. He quickly became family and frequented our house. When I got married, he became my wife's family as well. We will both miss him a lot.
Rest in Peace Brian - Maybe find Dad & Uncle and have a game of cribbage.
We would like to offer our deepest sympathy to Brian's family.

Brian was a very good friend. He was my oldest brother’s friend but soon became a family friend. He was always there like one of the family, he would help me with my homework every night, he had incredible patience. As the years passed we would play pool - Stan Brian and myself what great memories we will miss him. I would like to give his family my deepest sympathy.

I first knew of Brian from a young girl through my Mom's family (Seitz) at 188 Ahrens St. W.
Then after Eileen bought my home on Marshall St., Waterloo I realized that her man Russ was Brian's brother.
Next I got to know him at the Navy Club.
Finally I ended up playing cards with him every Friday at the Downtown Community Centre.
What a guy! Always a perfect gentleman with a great sense of humour. He was a real fighter and was well-liked by all that knew him. I remember how he so calmly dealt with the ordeal of the accident he had in his wheelchair. He never gave up.
I also met Janet and Stan at the DCC and played with them for many years. So many laughs.
I went to see him maybe 6 or 7 times at Freeport and he was always the same. Very nice man and gone too soon.
Fly high Brian and rest in peace---you deserve it!

My Dear Brian,
You were a major part of our family for all of my childhood and into my adult life. We had many parties and card games. You came to our cottage and visited with my dad and us. We had lots of fun back then. But, unfortunately, as sometimes happens, we lost touch for a bunch of years. But I recently found you at Freeport and we got to catch up and visit. We went out for lunch a few times, but then the Corona Virus hit and all we could do was visit via email and I always enjoyed getting your jokes and sending you mine. You were a bright light in my life since I got to meet up with you again.
I loved you my friend,
Rest in Peace
Diane Aitken ( Cote )
I offer my sincere sympathy to the Miller family.
