Peacefully, at his home, surrounded by his family, grateful and gracious to his final moments, his 18 month struggle with Leukemia at its merciful end. 

RJ lived a life of love, adventure, curiosity, caring and service to others. His 52 year love affair with his dearest wife and best friend, Sandy, was an inspiration to all who knew them.  The love and commitment he showed to his family and friends has been the deepest bedrock in all of our lives.  His medical practice and his small, unseen acts of kindness touched countless people in the community.

RJ is survived by Sandy, his devoted sister Gail (Hagarty) and brother-in-law Paul, his children Geoff, Greg (Kim Taylor), and Leslie (Craig Kestle) and grandchildren Lauren, Aidan, Ella, Chloe, Camille, Ben, Charlie and Georgia.

The family expresses its deepest gratitude to the medical teams at Grand River and Princess Margaret Hospitals. A private family service will be held at RJ’s favourite place, Bayfield.  In lieu of flowers, donations will be gratefully accepted by the Grand River Hospital Foundation and may be arranged by contacting the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home at www.erbgood.com or 519-745-8445.
