For those former students fortunate enough to have met Mrs. Gelinas at St. Mary’s High School, she is a reminder of what makes a teacher so treasured. I loved Mrs. G. She treated all her students equally-with true concern and support. She was always kind and a good listener. Her dedication to her profession was unquestionable. This picture of Mrs. G captures her spirit. My memories are of Mrs. G with a smile and always ready for a quick laugh. She helped so many of us during those sometimes awkward times of high school. I think of her as one of the best parts of my high school years. Mrs. Gelinas touched many lives throughout her teaching career. What a special gift she was. She was very loved. My sincere condolences to the family.

I worked with Helen at St. Mary's and Resurrection. What a loving, caring, compassionate woman! I witnessed many instances of her kindness to staff and students. Her dedication and work ethic were stellar. I can still see her walking through the office with her boxes of work, but as busy as she was, she always made time to listen, to hug, to offer words of wisdom. My condolences. May she rest in peace!

I am so very sorry to hear of Helen's passing my deepest sympathies go out to the family. I worked with Helen at St Louis in the guidance office. Helen was very kind and thoughtful to all who walked into St Louis. She taught me much patience and love and to know that everyone has a story. Helen will be missed by all. A donation has been made in Helen's name to the Carmel of St Joseph.

My sincere condolences to Helen's family and friends. I met Helen while working at Resurrection and I came to realize her amazing gift.... whenever you went to Helen she was full on 'there' and had the capacity to make you feel am important part of her caring. Teacher, student, it did not matter , she wide opened listened and you came away feeling a sense of healing. She will be missed.

My sincere condolences to the family and friends of Helen. She was a trusted and dedicated colleague with me at Resurrection Catholic Secondary where she could be found in her Vice Principal’s office well before school or well into dark, and where I could go into said office to vent about a problem or ask what was really going on with a new educational idea coming down from higher up. She handled me with grace and humility. More than I sometimes deserved! One of the best VPs I ever worked for. God bless.

I worked with Helen at Resurrection C.S.S. and it was during this time that I developed a tremendous amount of admiration for her as an extremely hard working educator but, more importantly, as a kind and caring human being.
