Mary passed away peacefully, with her family by her side, at the Freeport Campus of Grand River Hospital, on Saturday, September 18, 2021, at the age of 95.
She was predeceased by her beloved husband of 58 years, George Runstedler on March 4, 2006, grandson Todd Schagena, and great-grandson Jordan Runstedler.
Loving mother of Fern Schagena and her husband Doug of Cargill, Joe Runstedler, Wendy Longworth and her husband Milt, George Runstedler and his wife Gina, and Don Runstedler, all of Kitchener. Beloved grandmother of Tara Schagena, Joe Runstedler (Jr.), Christine Belsky (David), Milt Longworth (Jr.), Spenser Longworth and great-grandmother of Michael, Ashleigh and Chelsea Schagena. Survived by sisters Mabel Finch, Irene Runstedler, Lucy Baker and brothers Jerome, Richard and Leonard (Kathy) Sherrer. Fondly remembered by many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Mary was a longtime member of St. John’s RC Church in Kitchener and received her 50-year CWL pin. She enjoyed quilting, sewing, and playing Euchre and Bridge.

Visitation will be held at the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King St. S., Waterloo on Wednesday, September 22, 2021 from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. John’s RC Church, 85 Strange St., Kitchener on Thursday, September 23, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Parkview Cemetery, Waterloo.
