Passed away peacefully on Wednesday, November 24, 2021. She was predeceased by her dearly loved husband John (Jack) Day and is survived by her daughter Catherine, son Allan (Linda Skrapits) and grandson Conner.
Born in London, Ontario more years ago than she ever wanted to publicly acknowledge, Ellen married John in 1956 and they began their life together in Hamilton. They subsequently lived in Montreal before settling in Waterloo. Ellen was active in the Princes Richard & Michael chapter of the IODE and Trinity United Church.
Family and friends were central to Ellen’s life. She maintained contact with childhood and adult friends until her last days. Ellen actively corresponded with family in Scotland for decades by mail, before finally having the pleasure of meeting them. Ellen delighted in ensuring that family birthdays were planned well in advance and celebrated. She will be greatly missed.
Ellen’s family would like to thankfully acknowledge the kindness and support of her nearest neighbours, during her later years.
