I offer you my sadness , Debra. I was blessed to meet Bob near 50 years ago. I had a summer job with Bob's and Maureen's neighbours, Nelma and Henry Merlau, on their pig farm. The Hines family farmed chickens across the road. My first understanding of Bob was one of peacefulness. Bob spoke quietly, moved quietly, thought quietly. He oozed serenity. We worshipped at the same church, Wellesley Alliance. I fellowshipped with Susan at youth group, later getting to know Tiffany and Derek too, though a few years their senior. I played a small part in Derek's music career. As a B. Mus. student at Laurier, tenor, I was Derek's first vocal music coach. At age 13, Derek had a full baritone voice. I remember him starring in a pirate themed operetta as a grade 8 student. Both Bob and Maureen were kind to me in many ways, including storing my 64 push button dodge on their next farm when mum and I downsized to an apartment. I recall Camp Sag a Me Sing, in Port Loring, where I know Bob's jack of all trades skills would have been needed. I proudly still own a Camp sagamesing promotional pencil!!! When Susan and Steve bought their Mallory Beach cottage, I reconnected with Bob at an auction we both attended, me raising a young family in Wiarton, Bob visiting Steve and Susan. I recognized Bob across the crowd, his cute , small smile easily to identify. Again, when I approached and we spoke, he was his constant self......serene. I could never tell whether Bob was a multi millionaire or a humble working man.......he had zero pretensions. By then, I think he was living in a park model trailer in an RV park on the edge of Waterloo, sometimes cottaging on Mallory Beach. We then lost touch until now, upon Bob's death. If I may offer one huge item of gratitude.........during the decades I wandered in life's spiritual wilderness, I expect Bob was somehow raising me in prayer, as a man who demonstrated humility......living a life I now try to practise.......recognizing the men we were, the men we are, and the men we want to be. Bob was a humble, good man, who lived his life as a beacon to others. Please ask Derek and Susan to contact me : derreclair@gmail.com I hope Debra will too, that she may share her gratitude memories of bob. Again, Debra, and family, please accept my sadness. derreclair@gmail.com

What can I say about Bob,
Bob came into my life when he started dating Debra. I was the kid that wasn’t related by blood but always seem to be around. I knew immediately that Bob was the ying to Debra’s Yang. For an example he was soft spoken and she was not ( haha ). Bob is rooted center of some of the greatest memories of my young adult life. Once he found out I was a plumber the bantering and trade jokes never stopped. Jason Bob’s step son and our close nit group of friends spent timeless hours and many weekends working on renos up at their place in Wiarton, Ontario. I can still hear Bob voice cracking jokes at us and coaching us along. When I look back now I never realized the impact that time had on me. I am grateful for the time I had spent with him. I will miss hearing him say hello young man as I walk through the door when visiting.
With Love,
Mike Gifford

Bob was a friend and it was my joy to be the pastor at Sauble Christian Felllowship when he and Maureen attended there. He was a very handy guy to have around the church and a great volunteer with serious building skills! He was also project manager on a build we did while at Sauble and so appreciated his excellent work. Our deepest sympathies to you Debra, Susan and Derek. I would love to be at this service, but will be in ministry to the Wilmot Centre Church Seniors while this funeral is on. Our thoughts and prayers are with you.
Love, Tim & Jackie Harden

Bob was one of the Best!
While fishing, building a wall or just sitting around the kitchen table, many a life lesson were instilled in me from a young age.
I can"t imagine how different life would have been had our paths not crossed so many years ago.
May heaven have a never ending supply of green work pants, leather tool belts and good fishing stories. Not the ones that got away but of the biggest one caught.
Heartfelt condolences to all Bobs family.
Till we meet again
Love Brad and Val Cober

Debra and all Bob's family I am so sorry to hear of the sudden death of Bob. A man of great humility, gentleness, generosity, compassion and care, always willing to put others first both in his work and in his family life, he will be missed by us all and remembered as a man of great strength, deep love and a great sense of humour. He could fix and build anything. Debra, may the wonderful memories of your relationship with Bob over the last seventeen years always bring a smile to your heart, he will live on in the souls of all those who knew his love.
Love to you, Irene
