Dick will be missed tremendously! He was not just a client who trusted me to help him transition through the most heartbreaking time of selling his home after his beloved Shirley had passed, Dick was also a very dear friend to me. He was also the Father to my Sister-By-Choice, Sharyn (Sharyn and I were first-year roommates at University). Years later, Dick was always inviting and kind to me. Whether it was dinner with Shirley and Sharyn in my home, Easter brunches together with the family out in Waterloo, he always made me feel warmly welcome. I would visit him in Waterloo from time to time in recent years, and he'd have a twinkle in his eyes and he'd regale with laughter when I'd call him, "Handsome". He loved innocent mischief and any chance to engage in a small prank would delight him. He loved company and was always up for a Timmies and a nice chat. Most of all, he adored his children, Rick and Sharyn, and would do anything for them to keep them safe and make them happy...an absolutely wonderful father. Dick will not be forgotten but his presence will be missed. Shirley will be dancing with him now, both with big loving smiles, and the stars above will be brighter with those happy twinkles.
