It is with great sadness that the family of Roy Carl Pletch announce his sudden passing on January 16th, 2022, in Waterloo, Ontario at the age of 74. Roy leaves behind his brother Reed (Judy) Pletch, his nephew Michael (Heidi Hartmann) Pletch and his niece Deb Taylor (née Pletch) (Joe). Roy was a devoted uncle and much loved by his great nieces and nephews Will, Elizabeth, Emma, and Alex. Predeceased by his mother and father Lila and Carl Pletch, he was born in Pembroke, Ontario on January 12th, 1948, and raised for most of his life in Kitchener, Ontario. Roy worked for the Kitchener Wilmot Hydro until his retirement in 2001. 

Roy enjoyed the outdoors and dinner parties. Over the years, he visited many sunny destinations and experienced several adventurous walking tours in the United Kingdom, France and a special cruise on the Queen Mary II. He enjoyed strolling through beautiful gardens and photographing flowers, planting gardens and creating a botanical paradise on his balcony every summer. Roy was also an avid reader and loved the performing arts and regularly attended the Stratford Festival. He is deeply missed by his family, friends, and long-time dear friend Doug Erdman and will be remembered as a kind, caring, and gentle man.

A service will be held at Erb & Good Funeral Home, 171 King St. S., Waterloo on January 29th, 2022, at 1:00pm. To attend Roy’s service, a face mask covering the nose and mouth must be worn at all times and please observe physical distancing. A private interment will take place at Woodland Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in Roy's memory may be made to Parkinson Society Southwestern Ontario.
