Darrell and I were fortunate to know Lorne. He was on our bowling team at Victoria Bowl for several years when we were last there about 5 years ago. I have often thought about him with kind regards. Always the gentleman, and so interesting to talk with. Reading his life story written here, he was clearly a remarkable and very special human being. We give our sincere condolences to his large circle of family and friends who cared so deeply for him.

My family and I share in your grief at the loss of Uncle Lorne. While we will all miss his quiet, easy going nature we must keep his spirit alive in our hearts by living our lives with the same honesty, integrity and caring that he had. He has always had a special place in our hearts. We have so many fond memories of Uncle Lorne at Dianne's summer parties. We will miss you Uncle Lorne. Our sincerest condolences to all of the family of Uncle Lorne. Lorne was a wonderful person and a true gentleman and always had a warm smile when you met him. I'll always remember his chuckle when sharing good memories of family and friends long gone. Our deepest sympathy to Jan and all his family and friends. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

It must have been a difficult year for Lorne and all the family. Although I was younger than the Schell boys - I do remember them from across the street. When I was older and would go canoeing, my Mom let me know Mr Schell could sharpen my hatchet for me for our canoe trips, so I got to say hello briefly on my trips to Bridgeport then. My deepest sympathy to all the family at this time of loss.
