Hello, Jens and Karen, and all Langen family members. Please accept my sincere condolences on the loss of Robert. He was a a professor of mine at WLU in the 1960s, and more recently a neighbour in the Belmont Village area. A very good man indeed. Jens and Karen -- It's been a very long time since I've seen you, and I hope our paths will cross in future. May good memories and the support of family, faith, and friends sustain you all in the days ahead. -- Stephen A. (Steve) Jones, UW

Jens, Peter, and your families. My sisters, Sharon, Marilynn, and Laurie-Ann, and I wish to express our sincere love and gratitude to our Uncle Robert and Aunt Ruth for the deep compassion they shared with all those around them. We are honoured to have them in our lives even though it was in later years. We will hold those memories close to our hearts. They will never be forgotten.
With Love
Debra Campbell

Mr. and Mrs. Langen (Rob and Ruth) were like extended family to us. I have so many fond memories of Christmases spent visiting the Langens, as a child and later as an adult, and summers seeing them at the cottage or at their farm. I always looked forward to these visits, Mrs. Langen's delicious cooking, her sweet nature, how she always found ways to keep me entertained (I was the only child there). Mr. Langen was equally warm, kind, and welcoming - and always had new things to show us on the farm. My memories and reflections of him are as a wise and gentle man.
Though I hadn't seen Mr. Langen in the last several years, my mother, who often spoke to him on the phone, always commented on how sharp and witty he still was, even in his 100's. And I am blessed to have had the chance to speak with Ruth, just last summer, on the phone.
I would like to extend our heartfelt condolences to the family on behalf of my mother Helen as well, who passed shortly before Robert, and my late brother John.
Truly, this is celebration of life, for both Rob and Ruth. They were remarkable people who were loved by many and will live on in our memories. I am so glad they were part of our lives.
Lirondel (and Ramsey) Hazineh (also on behalf of the late Helen Melichercik, and the late John Hodgson)

As a child my memories of Mr. Langen can be summed up as a very tall man with so much kindness and love. Mr. And Mrs. Langen opened their home to me being good friends to Peter and Jens. Love was always a focus to everyone they met. Mr. and Mrs. Langen will be missed dearly.
