September 7, 1933 – August 16, 2022

Inga Waibel Irmler (nee Jauch) Beamish was born on September 7, 1933 in Grantham, England.  She died on Tuesday, August 16, 2022 in Waterloo, Ontario, age 88, with her husband Andrew by her side.

Much of Inga’s early years were spent during the war.  Her father, Francis, was the town surgeon, and her mother, Irma, was busy with her five children Wulfrum (Ute), Christa (the late Barry), Ursie, and Margie (Jimmy). She attended Abbots Bromley School, England.

She spent many happy visits in Hamburg with her maternal Omi and went to art school there.  As a young woman, she attended secretarial school and then worked in London, England.  During that time, she met her future husband, Andrew Beamish.

They married on September 1, 1956 and moved to Montreal in 1958. Their four children are Alex, Caroline (Brian), James (Yvonne) and Amanda.  Her three grandsons are Andrew (Crystal), James, and Luke (Brianne) who all got to know her in different ways. Her two step-grandsons are Matt and Adrian (Julia). She also leaves a large circle of friends who enjoyed her sparkling wit and hospitality.  Inga enjoyed good food, gardening, books, travelling, tapestry work for St. John the Evangelist Church, and most of all, she enjoyed being with her family.

Cremation will take place.  A memorial service will be held at The Church of St. John the Evangelist (Anglican), 23 Water Street North, Kitchener, on Friday, August 26, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. A church reception will immediately follow the service.
