Lloyd arrived at Glenview Park Secondary School in his first appointment as a vice-principal. This picture was taken for the yearbook about 1985. He brought his excellent teaching skills to his new role. He learned about the inner workings of our particular school. Each secondary school has a separate culture and unique neighbourhood of students, parents and staff. Lloyd earned the trust of the staff by being engaged, caring and thoughtful. He treated staff, support staff, students and parents with respect. He showed us when to work and when to have some fun. We were experimenting with a new timetable and Lloyd used that opportunity to see the staff enjoy the potential benefits to them and the students. Lloyd and I shared the same group of students as counsellor and V.P. I thoroughly enjoyed working with him as he always kept me aware of when he was phoning a home, who was to be seen and who needed some extra attention and support.

I was at Glenview Park when Lloyd was there. He asked me to help with girls who were dressed inappropriately and he didn't want to upset them by having a vice principal call them into his office and making it more serious than it was. I admired his caring
about the girls who didn't have someone to help them understand the image they were projecting. He was a very caring person whether it was staff or students.

When Lloyd had a twinkle in his eye I knew that he had another interesting idea swirling around in his head. This twinkle resulted in the planning of our first field trip to New York City from Bluevale C I Geography Dept. in the 80s.
Lloyd was always on the move and his energy rubbed off on the members of the Geography Department.
Thanks for the great memories !
