Dear Brad and Stephanie, My sincere condolences on the loss of your father. Bruce and I shared offices next to each other when I became a Superintendent and he was a wonderful coach and supporter. His loyalty to you and your mother Sal was first and foremost. As an educator he was well respected and set high standards. One of my favourite memories was teasing him by turning the model deer in his office on their sides whenever he took his fall hunting trip. Not only was I fortunate enough to have Mr.Scandrett as a teacher during my "formative" teen years at PHS 1960-65 but also had the extra benefit of having him as our basketball coach for several of those same years. Bruce's love for teaching was reflected by the students immense respect and appreciation for his ability to present subject material in a way that we all could understand and absorb! That he extended his love for students and learning was only amplified by his love for teaching us on the basketball court as well. The pictures below are from the 1960 to 1965 era. So many of us were so happy and pleased to see him attend a recent PHS reunion we had back a few years ago despite his failing health evident at that time. His passion never quit. Not only was I fortunate to know and appreciate this exceptional man but my own mother worked as "office manager" during most of the years that Bruce was at PHS and was so positive always in all her comments about working for and with this fine man. My thoughts and sincere condolences to all his family and friends. He will be missed by so many.

My heartfelt condolences to Stephanie and Brad on Bruce’s passing. I met Bruce on the first day of school at the University of Guelph. Our rooms were next to each other in residence and we became friends. Bruce was a very good student, he loved studying. He could not have been a better friend. We especially loved fishing and hunting on his uncles tobacco farm in Aylmer. We were each other’s best man when we married our dear wives (Sal and Margot), whom we met in Guelph. The foursome spent many times together and as the children came, we enjoyed many a Grey Cup together. We last saw each other at a ‘57 OAC reunion. He was a friend for life. Rest In Peace, my friend. I enjoyed a number of hunting and fishing outings with Bruce. He was a real outdoorsman and valued member of "The Hunt Club". His joie de vivre set him apart and made everyone he was with feel better. Bruce was a rare individual who will be missed by many.
