Our Beloved Pujya Baa - Champagauri Keshavlal Acharya, globally known as Baa passed away peacefully on the morning of Tuesday, December 7, 2022. She had her daughter, Heena (nee Acharya) Joshi, and daughter in law Chandrika Acharya by her side. She was a 92 year old matriarch of over 250 children spanning 4 generations.

She graciously spent her entire life living with her sons Ashwin (Pratibha), Kaushick (Daksha), and Ajit (Raksha). She helped raise her 6 grandchildren and was present at the births of her 8 great grandchildren.

Baa was born on 16^th January 1930 to Late Prabhashanker & Late Lalitaben Thaker in Botad, Gujarat, India. Baa married our father Keshavlal Chartrabhuj Acharya on 6^th June 1946 inheriting 7 Children, youngest being Kanubhai, just 5 years of age. She moved to Kenya, Uganda, and the UK before finally settling between Boston, US and Waterloo, Canada in 1990.

Baa spent her entire life amongst her 250 family members, making personal connection with most of them.  Baa was a strong, caring, selfless and amazing woman. She was always ready to help anyone and anytime anyone needed it. She would welcome everyone and anyone into her home with open arms. Baa’s memories and legacy of compassion, acceptance of all, kindness and giving without any expectations will be lived on by all her surviving members.

She also enjoyed travelling and singing Bhajans.  -- always happily ready to travel – a long drive no matter what the time, without any complaints, no matter what the situation. Her time keeping was perfect—you could set your clock when she woke up, had tea, took her medicine etc. During the last 3 years of her life, she would be clock-watching for Bhajans with the family at 1 PM and 5 PM EST. She will be thoroughly missed! We can say with all our heart: Baa we love you and miss you.  We are sure you are safe, sound and eternal peace in the lap of Shree Krishna. Om Shanti, Shanti, Shanti.

A Visitation will be held at Erb & Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King St. S, Waterloo on Saturday, December 10^th from 9am – 10am with a Service at 10am. The service will continue at Parkview Crematorium, 335 University Ave, Waterloo, with cremation to follow at 11am.
