Mom taught us the importance of family, faith and love. She was steadfast in her support of Dad in his role in the founding and as Associate Dean of the Mathematics faculty at the University of Waterloo. She was a humble and faithful servant, a long-time member of Holy Saviour Anglican church where she served as a lay assistant and pastoral care visitor. Mom was always willing to share her time with others. She was Volunteer Coordinator at Freeport Hospital, a hospital chaplain at Grand River Hospital and a volunteer for Hospice of Waterloo Region for many years.
Mom was an adventurer and travelled to many places over the years. She was an active member of Waterloo Christian Women’s Club, Women Alive, Probus, and Wednesday morning Church group to name a few.
She was our cheerleader, our worrywart, our role model and our constant guide. Our hearts are full of all you have given us and we will carry our memories and all we have learned with us for the rest of our days.
Mom enjoyed the care and cherished the companionship of many in her years at Luther Sunshine Centre. Sincere thanks to the nurses, PSW’s, staff and volunteers at Hospice of Waterloo Region for your care and compassion during Mom’s journey home. Thank you also to Reverend Victor Kischak, The Ven. Dr. Neil Carver and The Venerable Peter Townshend for their pastoral care over the last few months.
