Good-bye Ursula!
Having known Ursula for more than 50 years, I can attest that she was an extraordinary individual.
Having met Ursula as a grad. Student at the University of Waterloo in 1972, I remember so well her remarkable intelligence and her fierce commitment to any goal she wanted to reach. Her talent to organize her life was exemplary for me.
In those days just married, she together with Paul raised little Peter and some years later, Karl. In addition she – having attained a scholarship - was focused on getting her MA within a year – quite an achievement in such a short time.
In those days I also noted her social conscience. She was politically quite astute, and fought for social justice.
I also found her modesty remarkable. Over the years, seeing her now and then, I could not understand how such a good looking and highly intelligent woman could ask for so little in life. She was happy with Paul and the children.
Ursula and I were in touch for many years, and I regret that I did not inquire when she no longer responded to our Christmas greetings.
