Obituary of Ursula M Wyman (Nee Fischer)

Ursula M. Wyman (Fischer) died peacefully on March 1, 2023, at age 75. She lived her last 13 years with dementia and the last 3 years in the exceptional care of the staff at A.R. Goudie Long Term Care Home in Kitchener.

Ursula was born in Germany, the second child of Werner and Margareta Fischer (both deceased) and sister to Helmuth (deceased). She emigrated to Canada as a preschool child and grew up in the small gold mining town of Renabie in northern Ontario. She went to high school in North Bay and completed her B. A. at Waterloo Lutheran University (now Wilfred Laurier University) and her M. A. at the University of Waterloo.

Ursula and Paul married in 1970 and had two sons Peter (Liana Varnava) and Karl (Sibel Sevim). They welcomed five grandchildren Zoey, Soda, Andrianna, Isabella, and Christos.

Reserved and a bit shy, her intelligence, empathy and spirit allowed her to succeed at any task she chose but she was at her happiest in a pair of rubber boots, mud up to her elbows relocating a bush or flower for the third time.

There will be a memorial service for family and friends Saturday April 1, 2023, at 2:00 p.m. at Erb & Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King Street South, Waterloo Ontario.

In lieu of flowers, Condolences for the family and donations to Alzheimer Society Waterloo Wellington may be arranged at www.erbgood.com
