Dear Andrea,
Les and I were deeply saddened to learn of Nik's passing. We have fond memories of choir BBQs and an "auction" scotch nosing and dinner at your house, and I so enjoyed singing with you both in the choir at St. George's in the good old days. Nik will be missed by many. Please accept our condolences.

I know that the standard comment is "I'm sorry for your loss", and I am, but I am also sorry for my loss. I know we kind of fell out, and I wish that I had reached out sooner and more often. I have so many wonderful memories of evenings with the four of us, and will always cherish those.

My condolences, I'm very sorry I won't be there to say goodbye to a good friend because I'm cycling across Canada to raise money for some foundations. I know Nik would say you do finish this because it's important to help others.
My friend rest in peace and may our creator suround you with his love. One day we will see each other again.

Andrea, we have really lovely memories of spending time with you and Nik over the years. He was such a lovely person. It was always such fun when he would contact me now and then to ask me some sort of culinary question and we would chat a bit. I wish we could have shared another meal with the two of you. We raise a toast to him, with a very nice single malt of course. Much love to you and your family.

Nik, we were happy to become a part of your extended family through our children 10 years ago. When we first met, you welcomed us to your family with your friendly, easygoing, and engaging manner. You enthusiastically shared your many interests with us, including world travels with Andrea, extensive knowledge of single malt scotch and your deep love of your children and grandchildren. You were always quick with a hug and a well-timed and sincere compliment (even if we did overcook some of the dinners.) You truly made us feel like a part of your family. In turn, we were delighted to have you as part of ours.
Nik, you left us far too soon, but you also left us with many happy memories. Thank you for that! We will miss you greatly and always remember you as a great and loved friend.
Rest in peace. Jane and John Jennings

It was our honour to call Nik cousin and to welcome him and his children into our family when he married Andrea. We spent many happy hours in his company, delighting in his stories and enjoying his warmth and humour. He was especially close to my mother Peggy Balfour and I wish to thank him for that. He meant so much to her. I like to think they are having a happy reunion now in heaven. Nik and Andrea often joined our family gathering on Christmas Day and it wasn't Christmas without the guys tackling the giant Globe and Mail crossword puzzle. Nik always led the charge! We will miss him forever.

I was so sad to hear about Nick today. I have very fond memories of him from childhood when he lived on the corner of Waterloo Street. He was always a warm, smiling presence, even when he had to gently chastise me once for running through his rhubarb patch! I'm sure he will be dearly missed, and my thoughts are with Belinda, Kim, Alex, Andrea, and the rest of his family.
