I am so thankful for all the wonderful experiences my Mother got to enjoy because of Doug. Friday night car shows, Horse Racing, Portaging, Cottage and House Boat adventures, Outdoor Music Shows, Dances to name a few. He will be so missed.
I have known Doug for almost 60 years. We have been on many fishing trips and vacations together and had the pleasure of meeting and enjoying each others family's. Doug in his own way was a little on the adventurous side and in earlier times travelled with his long time friend Heinz Bechtloff exploring new fishing areas and also ventured to Expo (1967) Montreal to the world trade show. Doug also was a great solo player and loved country music, He had two sons and one daughter. Donna has been his angel ,and with her husband have been by Doug's side to the end making him comfortable. My wife and I along with our mutual travelling friends will indeed miss Doug. May he rest in peace, Ken and Sheila Beckner
