His handclasp had a feeling of friendship,
His eyes had a twinkle of mirth,
His grin carried humour and kindness,
He was truly the salt of the earth.
He was always there when you needed him,
He could never say no to a friend.
He was one of God’s finest creations,
He was steadfast and true to the end.
John’s love for chemistry and teaching,
Was a gift he generously shared.
His cooking for his family and friends,
showed them how much he cared.
John’s memory will live on within us,
In every wine glass that we break.
We will cherish his appreciation for life,
In every photograph that we take.
