Obituary of R. Rodger Seeley

R. Rodger Seeley passed away peacefully with family by his side on Tuesday, October 24, 2023 at the age of 85.

Rodger will be deeply missed by his wife Karen, sons Brian (Emily) and Craig (Cindy), grandchildren Benjamin, Ella, and Marin, and his sister, Karen Costa.

He was predeceased by his parents Ronald and Thelma Seeley.

Rodger was born in Lansing, Michigan and spent his youth both there and in Maryland. Rodger and his first wife Elaine (nee Irving) raised their two sons in Ohio and Ontario. Rodger married Karen in 1997.

He learned his engineering skills at Case Institute of Technology in Cleveland, Ohio and Youngstown State University, Ohio. He applied his love for metals (especially titanium) at his workplaces: Babcock and Wilcox Canada in Cambridge, ON, Haynes International in Kokomo, Indiana, and Hendrickson Springs in Stratford, ON.

Rodger had a passion for choral music, participating in Case Glee Club, numerous church choirs including Doon Presbyterian and Westminster United, Music Alive Community Choir, and KW Harmonizers. He loved being a husband, dad and grandfather.

Very special thanks to Meredith Herr, Chaplain Kathleen, and the staff at The Village of Winston Park (Hayesville) for their outstanding devotion and care for Rodger.
