Lorraine (with her warm smile) was the first person I met at UW Counselling Services on the day of my interview and my first day of work in early 2007. I had the privilege of not only working with her but becoming her friend and sharing grand stories of our lives over lunch. She was a light and source of comfort for literally, thousands of students, staff and faculty at UW, providing warmth and reassurance during difficult times. She was the life of the party at Christmas when she will steal a gift from the Director, Tom without hesitation!! At her retirement party Tom described how she had been the first point of contact for over 40,000 people at UW Counselling Services and her legacy is a part of the fabric and people of this institution. Many thanks Lorraine!
To Lorraine’s family, we were saddened to hear of her passing. We have been neighbours with Lorraine for 19 years. She was such a lovely woman with a beautiful smile. She always participated in our neighbourhood gatherings and took an interest in all the happenings on the street. She was a great neighbour and we will miss her.
With our sympathy,
Roxanne Warford and Mike Greening
We were sad to hear of Lorraines passing and Our prayers go out to Her and the Family during this holiday season. May the souls of the departed through the mercy of God rest in peace, Amen.
