Obituary of John "Jack" Walter
Jack died peacefully on December 20, 2023 at the age of 97. Jack is survived by sons, John and Steven (Bonnie) and daughter, Jane Frankovich (Mario), grandchildren: Hilary Millar (Sandy), Gregory Frankovich (Larissa), Cody Walter, Chad Walter (Michelle) and Brett Walter as well as great grandchildren: Avery and Alex Millar. Jack has a sister, Onalee Gage. Jack is predeceased by his wife of 68 years, Leila Walter.
He was a University of Toronto Engineering graduate. Jack was a Westmount curler, skier, sailor, pilot and loved spending time at his Six Mile Lake cottage. Jack volunteered with and chaired the Kitchener School Board as well as the Kitchener-Conestoga Rotary Club.
Special thanks to the staff on the 7th floor of St. Mary’s Hospital for making Jack’s last days comfortable.
