I was shocked and saddened to learn of Willi's passing. I first met him when he and Joe Schuehlein were building their new quarters on Sydney Street South. They took a chance on this 15-year-old kid, and offered me a part time job. Willi had me help out in the stair shop, Joe, in the garage door shop. From humble beginnings helping the block layer put up the walls, through countless hours in Willi's woodshop, over the next eight years, I learned skills that I've maintained to this day. Them allowing me to later help out in the office set me off on a career path that I had not imagined. I've always remembered Willi's help, and how he gave me the nick-name of RINGO. I recall that he also played the clarinet, so we enjoyed many 'arguments' about his music compared to The Beatles' music. My heartfelt condolences to Lisa, 'young' Willi, and the girls. May Willi rest in peace.
