Obituary of Orville A.W. Levean

Orville Levean peacefully joined his Savior on Wednesday, April 17, 2024, surrounded by his loving family at the age of 86. He will be dearly missed and fondly remembered by his wife Stella (nee Kuiack), children Pauline, David, daughter-in-law Annette, and many cousins.

Born on August 8, 1937, in Eganville, Ontario, Orville lived a fulfilling life. Known for his kind demeanor and infectious smile, he possessed numerous talents and hobbies. Orville had a passion for music, teaching himself to play the guitar and banjo, composing his own music, and performing with a band at the Saturday Night Jamboree in Golden & Round Lake. He also had a keen interest in electronics, earning his diploma in Television from DeVry Technical School in Chicago, specializing in the emerging field of color TVs. With an entrepreneurial spirit, he established his own electronics repair business in Eganville.

Orville met his wife Stella in her hometown of Whitney, and they married in July 1966, celebrating 57 years of marriage. Together, they built a loving family in Waterloo, Ontario, where Orville resided until his passing. His career spanned 30 years as a Television Technician at Electrohome, starting with black and white TVs and transitioning to color and projection systems before retiring in 1996.

Throughout his life, Orville remained a devoted fan of the Toronto Blue Jays. For the past few summers, he has enjoyed spending time at Clair de Loon on Shadow Lake with the family and close friends, embracing life at the cottage and marveling at nature's beauty, particularly the nightly spectacle of the full moon and the stars, which he shared with his children. His faith was central to his life, and as a Charter Member of Messiah Lutheran Church, he served in various roles, including Sunday School Superintendent, Teacher, and Elder.

Visits from family, weekly church services, and monthly men's lunches brought him immense joy. Orville valued the simplicity of life, his faith, and expressing love to his family, leaving behind invaluable lessons for all who knew him.

The family extends their gratitude to the exceptional staff of Grand River Hospital and CarePartners for their compassionate care during Orville's final weeks.
