I was an an Air Cadet at 822 (Tutor) Squadron in the 1990's. Major O'Drowsky was an institution in and of himself. While I didn't realize it as a teenager, the volunteers who work "in the back" are the unsung hero's of youth organizations. The tireless work that Major O'Drowsky had a large influence on my maturity into an adult and kick started my aviation career. On behalf of the thousands of Air Cadet's that passed through 822, my heartfelt condolences and congratulations on a life well lived.

Dear Kathy, Jim, Charlotte, Greg, Everette, and family; Our deepest sympathies to all of you on the loss of Dad O'Drowsky. He was a wonderful man with a wickedly funny sense of humour. I am so grateful and thankful that I met you, Kathy, and Mom and Dad through the Air Cadets. Who knew what a positive and fantastic life-changing experience it would be. I thoroughly enjoyed when I lived with them while I was in University. We would play practical jokes on each other, laugh about anything and everything, and work through the serious stuff. I met Mr O’Drowsky when I was 9, he was truly the sweetest and kindest man. As a cadet I always looked up to him. He worked closely with my mom on the Parents Committee so that meant our family got to know even better than most. Always had a terrific smile and was proud of mine and my sister’s accomplishments. Although I haven’t seen him in years, I still tell stories! Love and condolences to the family.

Uncle Tom was always a special part of my life, doing some of the things with me that Dad didn't do like going fishing and rides on the boat. It was great to have been a bit like his 4th child. Later on we would both share in the priviledge of being professional drivers and know to trust regardless of whose mirror we saw each other from. During the challenging times of life Tom was always there for me and always just a phone call away. Dropping by for dinner or Dessert with He and Jane or sharing takeout or meeting for fish on Friday at the Knights or the many breakfast outings he and I enjoyed will always be remembered for me as a part of great times in Waterloo. My kids also had the pleasure to know Great Uncle Tom and will forever be greatful for times at Sauble, a Father's day trip to the Museum or an Air Show. Till we meet again keep the shiny side up and know I'll be thinking of you often, and for Kathy and her family our prayers are with you as this chapter draws to a close.

I was one of "Tommy's Angels" We often laughed so much that I was worried that we would both be declared certified if we were overhead. I loved listening to his "stories" and I shared some of mine. It was all good. We understood each other. Fly high Tom. My condolences to the family and friends in this time of loss.
