Tom passed away at Terrace on the Square, Waterloo on Wednesday, May 15, 2024 at the age of 86 with family by his side.
Tom will be lovingly remembered by his daughter Kathleen (James) and her children Everett and Charlotte (Gregory), daughter-in-law Nathalie, daughter-in-law Patricia and her children Colby, Clayton and Bailey (Tye) and by his great-grandchildren Austin, Maverik and Millie. Also survived by his sister Patricia Meyer (Ron) and their daughter Rebecca, brother-in-law David Bennett (Lynne) and by his nephew David O’Drowsky (Angie) as well as many more nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and friends who also mourn his passing.
Tom was predeceased by the love his life, Jane (nee Bennett) in 2018 after 58 years of marriage, his sons Michael (2016) and Paul (2018), son-in-law Stephen (2013), brother John (Helen) and by his parents Frederick O’Drowsky and Ruth (nee Smith).
Tom joined the Scotts Fusiliers Regiment at a young age and later the 54th Light AA Regiment Royal Highland Fusilers. In 1972 he helped found the 822 (Tutor) Squadron Royal Canadian Air Cadets. He had a lengthy tenure as the Director of the Air Cadet Ontario Provincial Committee and was a member of the Air Force Association. Locally, Tom was also a member of the Waterloo Knights of Columbus, the Waterloo Legion Branch 530 and gave of his time as a volunteer with the Canadian Cancer Society. Many lives have been touched by his kindness and generosity.

Memorial visitation will be held at the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King St. S., Waterloo on Thursday, May 23rd from 6 p.m. - 8 p.m. and will continue on Friday, May 24th from 10 a.m. – 10:45 a.m. The memorial service will take place on Friday, May 24, 2024 in the chapel of the funeral home at 11 a.m. A reception will follow the service in the Fireside Reception Room of the funeral home.
