Dear Russell and family, We are thinking of you and have many memories of Carol. She was talented in so many ways. Carol gave wonderful dinner parties and as a neighbour on Albert Street, she was always willing to be supportive. I liked her strong opinions and good that she could make people see the many sides of an issue.
We hope you are well. Marion and Bill Marr

My most sincere sympathy to you all. I met Carol many years ago when I played racquetball. A group of us became friends then and enjoyed many hours of racquetball and lunches. Over the years we enjoyed many girls trips and day trips, Carol was a true individual, had her own well thought out opinion on all things and was never afraid to voice an opinion that might be contrary to the norm. At that time I was first married, she had such a good sense of humour, I always appreciated her input in my child rearing years, she was good at keeping things in perspective.
Then there were the years when Russell was Dean, she was busy hosting events, sewing beautiful clothes. That was really our connection, she was a great sewer, precise and educated. If she didn’t have the knowledge she would ask, I taught sewing for many years and we enjoyed exchanging ideas, picking colours for quilts, judging quality of fabrics and taking classes together. She didn’t like having a big hoard of fabric so she was very logical and precise about her choices, very little waste. She produced many beautiful quilts and particularly enjoyed making pyjamas at Christmas time.
She loved the travel years, loved the years Russell went on sabbatical so she could really indulge herself, enjoy the great foods/wines and interests in other countries.
I know how she loved Russell and her family, so often talked about her sister. Although I didn’t keep in touch in the last few years I think of her often or hear her commenting on something I do, such a nice reminder of a good friend. I will miss her.

To the entire Muncaster Family. I am so sorry to be reading of Carol’s death. Please accept my heartfelt sympathy. In 1965, I was a teenaged neighbour of the Muncasters and babysat for their 3 children. After they moved, I lost touch with them until several years ago when Carol and I met at the grocery store and recognized one another immediately. It always seemed we were there at the same time. We always had fun conversations standing in the store aisle. I have missed seeing her there.
Sincerely, Jean (Garner) Shannon
