Loving wife of Howard B. Martin, married for 56 years.

Predeceased by her parents Lovina (nee Hintz) and  Elias Eby Martin. Brother Walter Martin, and niece Brenda (nee Martin) Black and numerous uncles, aunts and cousins.

Doris attended Elmira High School through grade 10, then on to the Ontario Business College in Kitchener. Her first job was in an office position with Birks Jewelry for 5 years. The next two years she worked as secretary for Ratz Lumber Co., Waterloo, then two years with Conklin Lumber Co. Kitchener. She then worked with developmentally challenged children for one year at the former Martin’s Public School, Waterloo. Because of her love of children, she obtained a position with Waterloo Collegiate Institute in the Student Activity Office where she was employed for 30 years until her retirement. The "Doris Martin Student Activities Appreciation Award" is presented annually at WCI to recognize a student who has made an outstanding contribution to Student Activities.

Doris loved people and she loved the Lord. She willingly served as an Elder for a period in the local Presbyterian Church and later for a term at Trinity Evangelical Missionary Church.
