It feels like the end of a golden era with the passing of Charlie.
Charlie was our dearest and longest friend. We met in 1966 at Bell Canada in Chatham, Ontario. From the moment we met until our final goodbyes last Friday, we shared thousands of days together and never had a cross word or falling out in over 58 years. We loved him like a brother. Our Jason and Lisa loved being with Charlie and Irene and Mike and Lisa and grew up together enjoying pool parties, cottaging and day trips and eventually each other’s weddings.
It was our great fortune to have met him and we will surely miss him.
An Eagles song says it best, “There’s a hole in the world tonight” but still we are happy that Charlie is now and forever without pain.
