Obituary of Charles Thomas Keller
Peacefully passed away on Monday, September 30, 2024. Beloved husband of the late Irene Keller. Loving father of Lisa Szedetzki and Michael Keller (Lori). Cherished grandfather of Amanda (Jason), Matthew, Katherine (Jacob), Dylan, Christine, and Devynne. Great-grandfather of Ilona, Gavin, Evelyn and Oakley.
Survived by his sister, Lynn Moore. Predeceased by his loving wife, Irene Keller, and his parents, Frank and Gwyneth Keller.
Charlie grew up in Chatham, ON, where he learned many life lessons with his best friend, Bill Kerr. Charlie worked for Bell Canada for over 34 years. The best adventure of his career was when he accepted a one-year contract to work in Venezuela. During his time there, he learned to speak Spanish. Ma and Pa had many memorable experiences on this adventure.
Ma and Pa both loved fishing and enjoyed travelling to Cape Hatteras, North Carolina. During their many trips there, they experienced three different hurricanes. Winter months for over 25 years were spent in Holiday, Florida, at their condo in Tahitian Gardens. Charlie was involved in many activities -- playing tennis, learning to carve, sailing his model sailboat, volunteering his time, playing guitar and hanging out with his good friend Dale.
Family and friends were very important, and he loved getting together with them; music by the pool, watching his grandchildren swimming and laughing. So many parties at the Kellers. With good friends, Bill and Annalee, Barrie and Nancy, Chris and George, Don and Maureen, and so many more.
Special thanks to neighbours Walter, Jim and Brian and the staff at Freeport Hospital.
