Obituary of Wendy Louise Jackson (nee Heck)

Passed away in her home on Friday, November 22, 2024 at the age of 54.

Mother to Cameron J. Dyck, daughter of Ronald and Becky Heck, sister to Cheri (Tim) Burry, niece of Joyce and Carl Heck.

Wendy was predeceased by her sister Vicki-Lynn Heck in June, 2024.

Wendy excelled in academics and was an Ontario Scholar. She achieved an Honours B.A. in English Language and Literature, and a General Major in Psychology, with distinction, from Wilfrid Laurier University. She then graduated from the University of Western Ontario’s AltHouse College of Education, also with Honours and Distinction.

Teaching was not only Wendy’s job – it was her life! She had a quick wit and a great sense of humour, always able to throw in an appropriate comment when needed.

In her later years, Wendy developed meningitis and encephalitis, causing damage to the temporal lobe in her brain. This unfortunately forced her to leave her chosen vocation, but she never lost her passion for education.

As per Wendy's wishes, a private family gathering will be held at a later date. Cremation has taken place.
